We went all in with the Butcher’s Board (£69.94) a glorious meat lover’s dream featuring a 10oz sirloin, 10oz ribeye, and 8oz fillet. Each cut was cooked to absolute perfection, seared on the outside and beautifully tender on the inside. It’s one of those meals that makes you slow down just to savour every bite.
And of course, you can’t forget the sides. We’re talking classic chips and peas (included), because when it’s good, it doesn’t need to be fancy, and some downright heavenly sautéed garlic mushrooms (£3.95) . I’m not saying I packed the leftovers to go, but I’m also not saying I didn’t. (Okay, I totally did. No regrets.)
What really stood out to me, besides the food itself, was the atmosphere. The place has this effortlessly classy yet cosy vibe, you know the type where you feel like you’re having a proper special night without any of the stuffiness. The staff were spot on too, attentive without hovering, and genuinely keen to make sure you’re loving every minute. You can tell they’re proud of what they’re serving, and rightly so.
Their drinks menu has a good range of choices, whether you’re after a cheeky cocktail or a classic pint. Plus, they’re great at helping you pick a pairing if you’re feeling a bit spoiled for choice.
